Who I Am
My name is Carson Jones, and I am a Health Studies major at the University of Memphis in Tennessee. When I am not knee deep in an anatomy book, I spend as much time outdoors as I can enjoying soccer, endurance sports, and disc golf. A former cross-country runner, I turned to crossfit in late 2018, and am still going strong. I also love spending time in the kitchen and putting together new dishes as well as working to find healthier ways to enjoy culinary classics.
Why I’m Here
I grew up in a somewhat counter-cultural household, where our summers were spent canning food for the fall instead of on the beach or at Disneyland, or any other place families tend to go when the weather’s hot and school’s out. My interest in health and fitness began with my father’s diabetes diagnosis in the early 2000’s. I could see then, and in the events leading up to his death in 2009, that modern western medicine just wasn’t working. Since that time, I have had a vested interest in nutrition and fitness, and the effect that they have on culture and society across the globe.
What I’m About
My mission is to spread information about holistic health care, nutrition, and fitness, and promote healthy living and lifestyle practices here in my own community and around the globe. I have spent the past few years consuming as much material as I can about the way that we as humans are meant to eat, live and perform. This journey continues to change my life in new and wonderful ways each day, and I hope that it will do the same for all of you.
